Linh's second journal

When I listen to people talking about multiracial dating, I think American society has changed so quickly. It took nearly a century since the Declaration of Independence for the country to liberate slavery. It took another century until the time of Martin Luther King for its people to have complete civil rights, in which black and white people are created equal. Years later racial discrimination no longer exists in this civilized country. Many politicians have effectively contributed to the progression of the country such as Martin Luther King and Barrack Obama. Many writers have shown their exceptional talents like Langston Hughes. A number of men and women like Michael Jordan, the Williams, Tony Braxton, Michael Jackson, etc… have made the world know more about America. It is unreasonable to think this group is better than another. No more do American people think so. I just wonder if people from one group still have any prejudice about the background of the others.

Nevertheless, love is a very different matter. Because love is love! Love is the harmony between the two souls. It is not a political or cultural matter. Although multiracial marriage has become popular today, obviously a person more easily falls in love with somebody who shares the same culture, language and lifestyles than with someone who does not. The facts that Tyra mentioned in her show appear not only in the United States but also in many other multicultural countries. In Vietnam 54 different ethnic groups live together in a small land. We have shared culture mutually for hundreds of years. We have understood each other’s customs and traditional practice quite well. However, multiracial marriage is still very rare so far.

However, the world is changing so rapidly. In my opinion, we are gradually crossing out the concrete borders between the countries and areas; so we will gradually crossing out the invisible borders in our mind.

i agree with you but you know it's relly hard to Change people mind sometimes for example, in my country we have racial marriage because there are many different tribes so you it’s impassible to get married if you don’t have tribe or if you are not from a good one which is against the law but most people do it.
