Jay Leno with Kristen Bell
For some reason, when I clicked on the Youtube icon placed on our blog for the Jay Leno show, it prompted me directly to the Youtube web site. I figured I could watch the video as it was and so I did. Right after the short interview of Kristen Bell with Jay Leno, a series of alternative videos with related contents appear on the background of the screen and I saw that the young actress had also been interviewed by Dave Letterman on the Late Night Show. I couldn’t help it. I had to watch it. Dave Letterman is my favorite TV talk show host and, you might think this is bias, and it is, but he proved to continue being just cooler than the others.
First off, Jay Leno keeps the guest he just interviewed sitting right next to the guest he is interviewing, that’s just so awkward. This guy sitting right next to Kristen doesn’t know what to say or what to do with his hands, it’s ridiculous. Also, Jay Leno could not seem more apathetic and clueless. He looked like he couldn’t wait to letting her go. He even tried to throw in a joke but it was just unhumorous. On the other hand, the Late Night Show nailed it again. Dave’s band welcomed Kristen Bell with the old Ring My Bell song, get it? Quick-witted as always, and with nothing more than his own relish for what he does, obviously with no prearranged set of sell-out questions, Dave Letterman actually made me laugh, besides making the interview a whole lot more interesting. He still gets the job done like no other. If you want your own conclusions, check it out for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoCe24S2Vew&NR=1

Hi Fred,
I agree with you that Jay Leno does not own the manner of a good host like Dave, especially in this show.
By the way, I am really impressed by your writing style. You can express complicated ideas in a very natural and simple way. The style is totally different from the others' in our class. It seems very "American". I wonder if your Portuguese influences your English in term of the writing style.
